Gary M. Caplan was called to the Ontario bar in 1980.
He is recognized by the Law Society as a Certified Specialist in Civil Litigation. Gary obtained his BA from McGill University, his LLB from the University of Toronto Law School and he holds an LLM in Constitutional Law and an LLM in Alternate Dispute Resolution from Osgoode Hall Law School.
Gary is a chartered mediator and arbitrator and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, London England.
Gary has been appointed as an adjunct professor at three Ontario law schools: Osgoode Hall Law School, University of Toronto Law School and Queens Law School.
He is a frequent speaker, lecturer and writer.
Gary has been recognized by his peers as a “Best Lawyer” for the last several years.
Gary was lead counsel in Caplan v. Atas, 2021 ONSC 670 where the Ontario Superior Court recognized for the first time in Ontario the tort of internet harassment.
Carmine Scalzi is an accomplished litigation lawyer who has acted in a broad range of civil and commercial disputes since his call to the bar in 2006. He has appeared before all levels of Court in Ontario and has appeared in front of many Administrative Tribunals.
Carmine offers wide-ranging experience in the fields of commercial and civil litigation, and mortgage enforcement remedies.
Prior to his call to the bar in 2006, Carmine spent nearly a decade as an entrepreneur in the construction and technology sectors. This extensive experience allows him to develop creative, effective and efficient solutions to his clients’ litigation disputes and mortgage enforcement needs. A graduate of Osgoode Hall Law School (LL.B. 2005), Carmine is a member of the Advocates’ Society and the Canadian Bar Association.
